For many years, I wanted to know Finland and I knew that the day I traveled there, I would have to live the Nordic experience in every way. It was also the last stop of our summer trip to Europe, and it had to end in glory, with a great hotel like the Scandic Park Helsinki.
Location
I really liked the location of this hotel because it was in front of the Hesperia Park, and since we were staying on a high floor, we had a very nice view. It was also not far from the historic center, you could walk or take the tram, since the stop is right in front of the hotel. In fact, we took the tram from there to the train station to go to the airport. In Helsinki, it is very easy to move around.
Facilities
The hotel is part of the Scandic Hotels chain, which is the largest existing Nordic hotel group. Scandic Park Helsinki is in a huge building that has been renovated and has a very modern decoration, very cool, where blue and gray tones predominate.
If you like hotels with a lot of movement and atmosphere, you will love it. Since it has a very large lobby with several rooms and a bar in the middle, it is enough to sit in one of the areas to see all the travelers go by. And being a large 4-star hotel, logically it also has rooms for events, a spa, a gym and an indoor pool.
It also has a very nice restaurant, where a super elaborated buffet breakfast is served, ideal to try local products. I think that the breakfast of this hotel was one of the most complete and rich that we had during our trip. I also liked that it had a children’s entertainment section.
Our room
And now, let’s go to the rest area. The room we got was large with its armchair, a small table, a very comfortable bed and a bathroom that was spacious and modern, but above all I liked the view we had.
What type of traveler do I recommend it to?
It seems to be a very comfortable choice for families and travelers that like big chain hotels. Although I honestly don’t think that there is a traveler who will not like this hotel, especially for the value for money.
*Thanks to the Hotel Scandic Park Helsinki for its friendly hospitality.
