If you like beer and are planning to travel to the Czech Republic, you have probably considered including the city of Pilsen (Plzeň) in your itinerary. Since we wanted to know the famous Pilsner Urquell factory, we decided to stay in Pilsen at the Hotel U Zvonu.
In the middle of everything
Pilsen is an easy city to walk and the hotel had an excellent location because it was right between the train station and Republiky square, which is the main square where many restaurants and bars are located. It was also only an 8-minute walk from the Pilsner Urquell factory, which is the reason why we traveled there and where we would take a guided tour that afternoon.
Modern facilities
It is a small but new hotel, with modern decoration, very nice and with a great service. It also has a parking, which is important for those who are traveling through the country by car.
We had a very good size modern room with a spacious bathroom and everything was spotless clean. Although the hotel is near the center and next to a nice park, the area is very quiet and you don’t hear the bustle of the street inside the rooms. In general, we rested very well.
It also has a café-bar and a restaurant that serves buffet breakfast. But in both you can eat with regional specialties on offer. I think it is important to mention that this hotel is simple, but it has excellent reviews and rates among the first places on Tripadvisor.
It also offers great rates, worth taking advantage of, especially since you are getting good quality for your money and at the same time get to discover a new place beyond Prague, enjoy the Bohemia cuisine and above all get to know the place where “Pilsner” beer originated.
What type of traveler do I recommend it to?
The hotel itself is for all types of travelers, families, couples, friends, etc. But I think that you visit Pilsen for the beer experience.
*Thanks to the Hotel U Zvonu for its friendly hospitality.
